Local recommendations

1. A warm welcome

First impressions count, You will find the property cleaned, warm and ready for you.

2. Wi-Fi details and password

WiFi is available, without a password. Via a data signal from Stalham 6 Km away. Streaming is possible but this is NOT equivalent to broadband.

3. Parking and transport

There is ample parking just inside the gate. Drive up to the front door on arrival, unload and then use the car park leaving the garden clear for your enjoyment

There is a local bus service. Search on Coast hopper.

I am not sure of the nearest electric charging point, There is one at Tescos in Stalham.

4. Keys

Once inside the property by using the front door key from the keysafe you will find the two rear doors to the garden bolted on the inside. Withdraw the bolts for your stay.

The wall-mounted key box in the kitchen contains further front door keys to allow each member of your party independence for days out. The sun lounge and garden store shed are unlocked.

5. Contact if there are problems

If something goes wrong at the property for example the lights tripping, heating failure, or problems with appliances, etc, we employ a local handy person who is available for callouts. We will supply their contact details before your arrival.

6. Holiday let house rules

No smoking.

It would be a great help if you could leave the property clean and put any rubbish into the wheelie bins on your departure.

When the wheelie bins require emptying please move them from their position against the fence to nearer the track and turn them around so the handle faces the track.

Please turn the heating and hot water off on your departure.

Adjacent to Sea Edge and sharing the car park is a separate plot with a black wooden studio. I visit occasionally to paint and relax. Please look at the aerial photographs and if uncertain about which area I mean ask me to explain.

The area around the studio (although it appears to be a separate garden) is for you to use whenever you want, There is a firepit and secluded sunbathing area,  This area has a clear view of the sea and beach. A circle of large tree stumps to sit on surround the fire pit. It is divided from the buildings by pine trees.

In the evening feel free to light the fire, sit, and look at the sky with a glass of wine. The light pollution is minimal.

The number of stars may amaze you, So might 'Starlink chains' which are visible most evenings. The Milky Way and the occasional shooting star never fail to make the evening special. Many ships cruise along the horizon and are fascinating to watch. P.S. The 3 large ships that never seem to move are oil/gas production platforms 10 miles away.

7. Property information and facilities

The main stopcock is near the front pedestrian gate on the right by the hedge.

The gas bottles can be isolated by closing each of the valves on top.

The master electric switch is in the cupboard in the toilet/shower room.

The heating is controlled from a wall stat in the main room near the corridor door.

Wood for the wood burner is stored in the 'bunker' behind the black garage.

8. Appliance instructions

Operating instructions, troubleshooting guides, and diagrams on how to use appliances are in a drawer in the kitchen.

9. Heating instructions

I ask that the use of the central heating and wood burner is considered and that you notify me if you have to 'swap' the gas supply between gas cylinders so that I may order a replacement.

Help me save energy by turning the heating down while out and keeping windows shut when the heating is on.

These actions can help save on energy costs as well as reduce your carbon footprint while on holiday. For more ideas on how to save energy and reduce its impact on the environment, read our blog on eco-friendly holiday home tips.
